Bavaria

MS Ludwig Feßler (Chiemsee)
sidewheeler, built in 1926 (Hitzler /Regensburg), on duty in 1927, hull: iron, engines: J.A. Maffei (360 PS), changed from steam to diesel in 1972/1973 and 1991/1992 (2 MAN-Diesel), length 53,00 m, width 6,00 m (incl. wheelhouse 11,60 m), 685 passengers.
The MS Ludwig Feßler goes every hour from Prien at Chiemsee or Gstadt to the islands Herreninsel (castle Herrenchiemsee) and Fraueninsel in regular services (services all year round, MS Ludwig Feßler in summer months only), specials and charter cruises (owner: Chiemsee-Schiffahrt Ludwig Feßler).

MS Diessen (Ammersee)
sidewheeler built in 1908, hull: iron, engines: J.A. Maffei (230 PS), changed from steam to diesel  in 1975 (MAN-Diesel), length 38,00 m, width 10,10 m, 360 passengers.
The MS Diessen goes on regular services in summer months only (april til october) for example from Herrsching or Stegen, also special and charter cruises (owner: Bayerische Seenschifffahrt GmbH, Schönau am Königssee).
MS Herrsching (Ammersee)
sidewheeler built in 2002, engines: dieselelectric, 2 Deutz marine engines (510 PS/375 kw, 25 km/h), length 54,00 m, width (incl. wheelhouse 14,00 m), 300 passengers.

The MS Herrsching goes on regular services in summer months only (april til october) and special and charter cruises (owner: Bayerische Seenschifffahrt GmbH, Schönau am Königssee).

The new boat was presented to the press on February 28, 2002, at Lux-Werft, Niederkassel-Mondorf. The transport to Stegen, lake Ammersee, was in beginning of March. The interior is built by Firma Auer of Innsbruck. The main cabin is decorated with Art Deco elements. The main deck is built in teak. The sculptor Friedrich Schelle of Berchtesgaden created the decoration of the bow. The boat has a real steam whistle - from the former DS Gisela - operated by a steam generator. There is a pilot stand for kids with a pilot wheel and a telescope. The boat arrived in Stegen at lake Ammersee on March 13, 2002. The boat was christened on May 15, 2002, at Herrsching.

DS Andechs (Ammersee)
Near the stop "Utting" you will see the DS Andechs (1907 - 1955), which serves without engines, paddlewheels and stack as a club house for a local yacht club (Bayerische Seglervereinigung e.V.).

DS Hohentwiel (lake Constance, Lindau (D)/Hard (A))
sidewheeler, built in 1913 (Escher Wyß & Cie, Zürich), 950 PS oilfiring, 700 passengers.
The DS Hohentwiel goes on special cruises (Schiffahrt Agentur Konstanz), Bregenz opera cruises, dinner cruises and charter cruises from several harbours on lake of Constance (owner: Internationales Bodensee-Schiffahrtsmuseum e.V., Lindau am Bodensee).
